The JHU story

When the Baltimore merchant Johns Hopkins died in 1873, his $7 million bequest was the largest philanthropic gift in American history — and it built America's first research university. Opened in 1876, Johns Hopkins pioneered the model of teaching fused with original research that every modern American research university now follows.
The firsts kept coming: the Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1889, a School of Medicine that was the first to require a bachelor's degree and admit women on equal terms, and the nation's first school of public health — today's #1-ranked Bloomberg School. Hopkins has led every U.S. university in research spending for more than four consecutive decades, at roughly $3 billion a year.
In 2018, alumnus Michael Bloomberg gave $1.8 billion — the largest private donation ever made to a university — so admissions could be permanently need-blind. The students you reach here were selected purely on merit and trained where discovery is the whole point.

Founders hire here
Y Combinator founders and startup teams who hired through the Capmus network.
“My sincere thanks to you and the Capmus network for the excellent work in support of our recruitment efforts. We received nine applications within two weeks, two of whom we've hired. The applicant pool was outstanding. The process was straightforward and saved us time. We look forward to continuing to work with you for hiring students and alumni. Best regards, John Ramunas”
Developer of a telomere extender designed to reverse the effect of telomere shortening. Raised $4.13 million of venture funding from Shanda Group and Khosla Ventures.
John Ramunas, PhD“I made a great hire off your site! When we start to hire again, I will reach out to get more postings. We will be using you guys in the future.”
Developer of an electronic health record platform offering practice management and billing services. $28.7 million in Annual Recurring Revenue. Raised $47.63 million of funding from Runa Capital, SVB, SQN and ORIX.
Daniel Kivatinos“When I founded RollCall back in 2010, I knew I had to recruit star mobile, social and hadoop backend developers into my team. If you're not hiring A+ people into your company, you're not going to make it as a startup. Hiring B players leads to them hiring C players. C players kill your company. Capmus is the best way I know of to recruit A+ engineers.”
RollCall was acquired by StubHub for $10 million.
Chuck Lam, PhD“We needed to find the best mobile developers and computer scientists in Silicon Valley to apply for Vodafone's Wireless Innovation Competition. I advertised with Capmus to encourage applicants from top universities to enter our contest. I couldn't be happier with the results.”
J.D. Sugiyama“I finished up my Entrepreneurship Bootcamp, and when it was time to find a job, I looked at what's available on the Capmus network. There are lots of opportunities available for new grads and professionals looking for a career change. Capmus helped me line up an interview with a venture-backed mobile app startup. I can't wait to get started with my new career. Thanks so much Capmus!”
